I know a lot of you are starting to get the hang of the new Business Timeline on Facebook since the changeover last weekend. I’m going to point you in the direction of a feature which I am finding very useful and a lot of our clients are too.
The feature that I speak of is ‘Milestone’. To tap into this new feature you first of all need to be the administrator of the Business Page once you are you can access it. Simply place your cursor over the middle of the physical Timeline until it turns into a cross, a number of features will appear including status update, photo, questions and Milestone. By clicking on the Milestone button you can then import the information you wish to share with your Fans.
So what information do I share? As the name suggests share something that is relevant to your business and something you are proud of. Maybe it’s a milestone because your received an award, you’ve reached a certain number of Fans, you’ve received a ringing endorsement from someone or you’ve opened a new store or your moving to a bigger/newer premises. The possibilities are endless. The great thing is that if you have a photo of your good news story a large image dimension of (843 x 403) pixels for photos can be applied. This image is even bigger than your cover shot so take advantage. In fact shout from the rooftops!
Finally, and probably best of all you can go back in time with milestone where you can insert information and images about your business even before Facebook was invented!!! Everyone loves looking at old pictures and it is wonderful to see where a company began and where into the future it wants to go.
