What are Facebook Stories?
Like them or not, Facebook Stories are here to stay and grow. With over 500 million users at the start of 2019, that’s a large percentage of Facebook’s 2.38 Billion Users…. Believe it or not there are many Facebook users who are still asking the question, “what are Facebook Stories and how can they use Facebook stories for business ?”
Facebook Stories are snapshots of peoples’ lives and interests that last 24 hours.
They’re generally raw footage that depict a more positive or interesting components. This is one of the beliefs for why Facebook Stories have hit such a chord with users. They are generally fun, give life and show energy or interest. With many Facebook posts these days becoming emotionally charged or negative, Facebook stories are more positive (for now). Smart marketers will keep them this way.
The Facebook Story format mimicked the success of Snapchat. When SnapChat first entered the scene it was met with excitement and cynicism. Many were unsure whether people would be interested in a social media platform that allowed users to post something that would only last 24 hours.
They were wrong and SnapChat grew to over 150 Million Users. And now when we answer the question what are Facebook Stories, it’s quite easy to see that Facebook had to add it to their social media platform because it was obvious people liked to idea of sharing “snapshots” of their lives with others that were fun and interesting.
We also saw Instagram explode into the Story scene in August of 2016 and reaching this same 150 Million users in a short period of time. Those numbers are huge, 150 million users is mind blowing and it should speak to all kinds of entrepreneurs that they need to be using stories in a way to generate leads and make money.
What are Facebook Stories and how do they work?
Similar to Instagram Stories, content shared to stories will appear at the top of the Facebook News Feed. To view a story, users simply tap a friends’ circle at the top of the app.
